Feast of St Charbel Makhlouf

Event Details

This coming July 24 we celebrate the feast of St. Charbel Makhlouf as an Optional Memorial. 

Born in Lebanon and ordained a Maronite priest, St. Charbel chose a life of hidden prayer and austere solitude in the hermitage at Annaya, becoming a powerful intercessor for many who turn to God through him. 

Pope Leo XIV summarizes his legacy:

“Through the Holy Spirit, St. Charbel teaches people to pray, to be silent, to be modest, and to be poor—counter-cultural truths that draw many souls back toward God.”

In this feast, we are especially invited to ask St. Charbel to intercede for the Church and for peace, remembering that “there is no peace without conversion of hearts.”

Novena to St. Charbel commence from Wednesday, 15 July and will conclude on Thursday, 23 July after Morning and Evening Mass. 

Feast of St. Charbel will be celebrated on Friday, 24 July 2026.
